Courtney Gault is the founder and creative force behind Formative House, built on a simple but deeply held belief: children’s spaces deserve the same level of beauty, intelligence, and intention as the rest of the home.
Before entering design, Courtney worked as an educator and earned a dual master's degree in general and special education, a foundation that continues to inform every project the studio undertakes.

From Greenwich Play to Formative House
Since 2018, Greenwich Play has helped redefine what spaces for childhood can be.
What began as a playroom design studio has grown into something larger. Today, our work continues through two distinct destinations, each built from the experience, philosophy and point of view that began here.
Formative House is our private residential and commercial design studio, creating exceptional spaces centered around childhood, family and play.
The studio accepts a limited number of full-service commissions each year.
